Questions & Answers
How do I care for a bamboo baby grow?
Turn it inside out, zip it up and wash on a gentle cycle at 30°C or below with a mild, baby-safe detergent. Skip bleach and fabric softener; bamboo stays soft on its own.
Air dry where you can, reshaped and hung or laid flat. If you need to use a tumble dryer, choose the lowest heat to avoid shrinkage.
Soak breast milk stains in cold water straight away, and soak tough stains for 30–45 minutes before washing. See our care guide for more tips.
Is bamboo suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. Bamboo is naturally hypoallergenic, breathable, and gentle on eczema-prone skin. Battle tested with our daughter’s eczema.
We use OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics, which are independently tested for harmful substances.
Can my baby wear them day and night?
Yes. Our baby grows are designed as all-day essentials. Soft, breathable fabric and flexible fits mean your little one stays comfortable whether they’re napping, feeding, or wriggling around.
What makes Funkii baby grows different?
Our baby grows and headwear is made from buttery-soft bamboo, chosen for its natural breathability, stretch, and hypoallergenic qualities.
The fabric adapts to temperature, keeping little ones cool when it’s warm and cosy when it’s cooler.

Why is bamboo better than cotton?
Bamboo viscose is gentler on delicate skin than traditional fabrics. It stays soft wash after wash, regulates temperature, and wicks away moisture. It also stretches up to 4x more, meaning our clothes fit longer.
We use certified bamboo that’s free from harsh chemicals, so only pure, safe fibres touch your baby’s skin.
Our baby clothes are crafted from 95% bamboo viscose and 5% spandex.
Why do Funkii baby grows cost more?
We don’t cut corners. Premium bamboo, safe dyes, and parent-led design mean each piece lasts through growth spurts and countless washes.
Fold-over cuffs and adaptable features help extend wear, so you need fewer clothes overall.

What should my baby wear for sleep?
A Funkii baby grow on its own, or with a short-sleeved bodysuit underneath on cooler nights, plus a well-fitting baby sleeping bag with the right TOG for the room, is usually all they need.
Our bamboo is breathable and helps your baby stay comfortable, but it isn’t a replacement for a sleeping bag or bedding. Choose the TOG to suit the room temperature, keep hats off indoors, and check they’re not too hot by feeling their chest or the back of their neck.
What should my baby wear to sleep in winter?
A baby grow is a single breathable layer, so on colder nights it needs to be paired with a sleeping bag or bedding that’s safe for your baby’s age.
Under 12 months: use a baby sleeping bag that fits well around the neck and shoulders, has no hood, and has a higher TOG for a cooler room (for example, 2.5 TOG for around 16–20°C; always follow the guide on your sleeping bag). If you use blankets instead, choose thin cellular blankets tucked in firmly no higher than their shoulders, with your baby’s feet at the foot of the cot. No duvets, quilts or pillows, and no hats indoors.
Over 12 months: a toddler sleeping bag is still a great option, or a light toddler duvet once they’re in a cot bed or bed.
Aim for a room temperature of 16–20°C. If your baby feels hot or sweaty on their chest or the back of their neck, take a layer off. For full guidance, see the Lullaby Trust’s safer sleep advice.
Is bamboo fabric made with harsh chemicals?
Like all viscose, our bamboo fabric goes through processing to turn bamboo pulp into soft, stretchy fibres. What matters for your baby is what’s left on the finished fabric.
We use OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics, which means they have been independently tested for harmful substances and are safe for delicate skin.
